Calli B Photography

I am absolutely smitten about the photography of this wedding, by Calli B Photography. Teagan and Isaac were married at The Little White Wedding Church in Maleny, which is clearly the perfect backdrop for sensational photographs. I'm not sure if it's that the bride is just soooo pretty or perhaps it's that i instantly felt the love between this couple jump out at me... whatever the case, i love these images. Thank you Calli B Photography xx

Cupcake In A Jar

The cupcake phenomenon just won't end. Now this sweet treat has been reinvented in a novel way... a cupcake in a jar! Perfect for cute take-home wedding favors.

Here is the DIY recipe as posted by My Cakies:

Ingredients:
- 2 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 1/2 cups sugar
- 1 tsp baking soda
- 1 tsp salt
- *2 1/4 tsp cocoa powder
- *1 1/2 cup canola oil
- 1 cup buttermilk, room temperature
- 2 large eggs, room temperature
- 2 tbsp red food coloring
- 1 tsp white distilled vinegar
- *2 tsp vanilla extract

for the cream cheese frosting:
- 1 pound cream cheese, softened
- 2 sticks butter, softened
- *2 tsps vanilla extract
- 4 cups sifted powdered sugar

Step 1: Prepare batter and fill each cupcake pan 2/3 full. Bake in a moderate oven for approximately 17 minutes.Take out of oven and allow to cool on a wire rack.
Step 2: Once cooled, cut each cupcake in half. Place the bottom half in the bottom of each jar.
Step 3: Put a layer of frosting.
Step 4: Take the top of the cupcake and place it onto of the frosting. Flatten the top part of the cupcake inside the jar to make it flat (ish).
Step 5: Beautifully frost the top of the cupcake.
Step 6: Cover with lids and package to your individual style.

Favor Flower Stall

I've had a photo in my archive for awhile now and kept meaning to come back to it... then today i found a post by One Stylish Bride about the exact same thing... a wedding favor flower stall! What a perfectly pretty idea to have pre-arranged bouquets of flowers for your guests to take at the end of the night, or better still let your guests make up their own bouquets to take home and enjoy after your wedding. The ever-creative Martha Stewart suggests having cellophane bags custom-printed with a message asking guests to pick a few flowers to take home and carry on the celebration. Oh! How very My Fair Lady !!!

Leaving On A Jet Plane... Oh Babe, I Hate To Go

So kiss me and smile for me
Tell me that you'll wait for me
Hold me like you'll never let me go
Cause i'm leavin' on a jet plane
Don't know when i'll be back again
Oh babe, i hate to go.

There's so many times i've let you down
So many times i've played around
I tell you now, they don't mean a thing
Every place i go, i'll think of you
Every song i sing, i'll sing for you
When i come back, I'll wear your wedding ring.

Now the time has come to leave you
One more time let me kiss you
Close your eyes i'll be on my way
Dream about the days to come
When I won't have to leave alone
About the times, I won't have to say

So kiss me and smile for me
Tell me that you'll wait for me
Hold me like you'll never let me go
Cause i'm leavin' on a jet plane
Don't know when i'll be back again
Oh babe, I hate to go!!

(though my favourite version is by The Corrs)

Location Location Location

After over a year of blogging, i am still completely 'Frog Princess' green with envy over some of the amazing wedding locations on offer in America. Slowly but surely, I am discovering some equally divine venues here in Australia... just like Maleny Manor on the Sunshine Coast in Queensland.

Maleny Manor was purpose-built as a wedding reception venue with stunning hinterland and ocean views, luxury accommodation and fine food. With wide-wrap around decks, lush manicured lawns, a lake with pontoon, a winding pathway to an elegant pavilion and a picturesque Red Bean tree, the choice of scenery is all yours to complete your dream wedding.
